Crystal Bridges Museum/Choctaw Casino - July 29 & 30, 2013
Diamond Club members, escorted by Beckie Miles and Cathy Harville, travelled to the fabulous Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville on July 29 and then on for a fun-filled night at the Choctaw Casino in Pocola, OK (just outside of Fort Smith). Crystal Bridges Museum itself is architecturally stunning and the grounds and trails are flawless. The museum is filled with American artwork from the late 1700’s to modern day. They toured the Angels and Tomboys exhibit: Girlhood in Nineteenth-Century American Art explores the myriad ways artists portrayed young girls: from the sentimental, innocent stereotype to the free-spirited individual. Everyone enjoyed a lovely lunch, a tour of the museum and had great time exploring the grounds and museum gift shop. Afterwards, they travelled to the Choctaw Casino where they enjoyed dinner, then everyone had the evening to gamble, relax and enjoy great new and existing friendships. The next morning the gang met for breakfast, and some that had winnings from the previous evening again went to try their luck. A fun ride home was had, with a stop in Russellville for lunch.
