Each fall, Little Rock serves as home-away-from-home to the Hogs as well — the Arkansas Razorbacks play two home football games a year at War Memorial Stadium in what has become an Arkansas cultural phenomenon. Tens of thousands of fans congregate on the War Memorial Park golf course adjacent to the stadium beginning at sun-up on game day for a unique tailgating experience. In fact, the number of fans outside the stadium on game day is believed to top the number of fans inside the stadium.
Pinnacle Mountain and the Arkansas River Trail, which includes the Big Dam and Two Rivers pedestrian bridges spanning the Arkansas and Little Maumelle rivers, provide the kind of opportunities for biking, walking, running and hiking not found in many metro areas. In addition, rowing is gaining in popularity on the Arkansas River and Lake Maumelle is a regional sailing destination.
