Simply put, the Florida Panhandle is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Drive west on U.S. 98 out of Gulf Breeze, cross the bridge over the harbor into Destin, and we dare anyone to suggest otherwise. They don’t call it the Emerald Coast for nothing.

Interstate 10 that traverses the width of the Panhandle strings together several significant U.S. Navy and Air Force installations that make northwest Florida a military hub. Naval Air Station Pensacola is the birthplace of naval aviation in the U.S. and home to the National Museum of Naval Aviation and the Navy's renowned Blue Angels.

Naval Air Station Whiting Field is located at Milton; Eglin Air Force Base is just outside of Valparaiso, and Tyndall Air Force Base is near Panama City .

Our Countries new F23s, the F15s, and other fighter jets and military aircraft are as much a part of the Panhandle sky as bald eagles, blue herons or barn owls. But other than a tinge of patriotism when you catch a glimpse of them racing across the Gulf horizon on a training mission, you'll never even notice their presence.

Fishing is world class in the Panhandle, offshore and otherwise. Fish for sailfish, marlin or wahoo in the Gulf, and go after cobia, bluefish, tarpon and mackerel inshore. Freshwater more your style? Then take a crack at the bass, bream and catfish teeming in the Blackwater, Shoal and Yellow rivers.

Or cast your line from any one of a number of piers dotting the beaches from Pensacola to Panama City, including the 1,200 foot Okaloosa pier where 100-pound tarpons are known to congregate, and the 3,000-foot Destin Bridge Catwalk, where you can hook speckled trout, white snapper and redfish.

The Florida Panhandle….home of pristine, sugar-white beaches, crystal clear water, beautiful cypress swamps, lush piney woods and some of the friendliest people on the planet. Whether we're serving native sons and daughters or vacationing guests, Centennial Bank is proud to call it home.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
